From '89: The last broadcast of WNEP's "NewsWatch16" from their digs next to the airport in Avoca, PA which was actually their second location. They were originally located in downtown Wilkes-Barre--the result of a merger between WARM-TV and WILK-TV. The result? WARM's channel 16 on the dial became WNEP along with a new owner. They moved to "their new digs" in Avoca in 1962 where they remained the next 27 years. Be sure to check out the WNEP Fan Tribute Page at: www.carlabraham.com/wnep.htm Part 1 of 3

  • @allnewtpir There are a couple ABC affiliates who use MOVE CLOSER. WNEP actually uses a re-arranged version of the theme while WPVI 6 in Philly still uses the original

  • @SheriffTankStoner I wish that I could find that on Youtube. He was just.. wow.

  • @kickitot I wonder how it went on for so long without anyone noticing because they said he'd been doing what he did since the 1970's. I know I have to give credit to Marisa and Nolan for keeping their composure when they had to air the story.

  • @SheriffTankStoner Yep he did. Wow.. He was sick sick man.

  • Very weird listening to "Move Closer..." on a station that's not WPVI.

  • Jim Renick would be arrested in 1995 for child-related charges.

  • Win Lose or Draw! I miss that show.

I love the way that anchor talked about the lottery. At least one person will be happy. Wow, how cheery.

    Pat Porro looked terrified.
