Theres no prrof that the vikings settled in the states, they just passed by. Americans and canadians should be more concerned over their native american indian culture.

@coldafrican - the Vikings came to take what was available, use it then find another area where they could get more. Nonrenewable was not a concept they embraced.
The only place with "native" humans, not settled by waves of immigrants, is Africa. True some immigrants came centuries before others. The cultures of the first peoples should be honored.
Learning about the Vikings -- why they came, what they did and why they did not stay -- teaches an awful lot about why that is not the case :-)

Very nice. What part of the island did you visit. I see Gros Morne. Were going again next week. Check out my video under my profile

The trip was through Horizon & Co. Eco Tours - the Earth to Human trip. Gros Morne with a string quartet in the evening and amazing guides from Horizon and Parks Canada. Definitely a destination worth visiting again!

Thanks! What I couldn't capture in the video was how the land and the people touched all of us...and how the memories and pictures still bring a slow and peaceful feeling that makes me smile...
