The Kirby Tradition

This is my Ebay bought Kirby Tradition. I bought the cleaner from a Kirby Dealer, and it arrived in beautiful shape.
All I did was make it my own....
And by that I mean I modified the bag system so it would use the Sentria HEPA bags. I used a combination of the Heritage I & II bag system to achieve the results I wanted. The cleaner works very well, and has excellent air flow. The original Tradition bag system was pretty bad, and restricted the air flow too much.
Now this royal blue beauty cleans like a Kirby should!

Did the larger fill tube simply screw down into the fill tube adapter or were you able to put the new style bag adapter onto the old fill tube? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL!

Nice Tradition!!! That looks really nice!! I am fixing up my Tradition and it was in terible shape! Now it is in great shape. I just need to find somebuddy who has a belt!:(

@methodistbill I've heard of folks working in a wider fill tube while maintaining the original 'emptor' of the older kirbys. This can be accomplished by taking out the plastic fitting between the cloth bag and the emptor and modifying it for the wider fill tube. Other folks like me have replaced the metal emptor with the plastic 'mini-emptor' used on the heritage 2/legend. The H2/L2 uses the same fill tube/bag connector as the G series/sentria.

@lucasmollet Be careful picking up bigger objects with that fan, those break over a period of time, have you seen about getting a Kevlar or a metal one for it?

hmmm. Did that new style bag adapter fit onto the old fill tube? I always thought the old fill tube on the Tradition was too narrow. Or did you somehow manage to get a new style fill tube down into the adapter on the emptor? Thanks! Inquiring minds want to know!
