Marty Robbins Prairie Fire

This stunning Joe Babcock song comes from Marty's 'More Gunfighter Ballads And Trail Songs' which came out in 1960. The album was every bit as good as the first masterpiece issued in 1959 thanks to the quality of songs such as this one. Not only was Marty blessed with the most beautiful of voices, but he also knew how to put a song across. You can almost believe that Marty and his men are actually being pursued by the flames pursuing them in the song lyrics. Wonderful guitar as always by Grady Martin who embellished many of Marty's greatest songs.

This great storyteller and musician died 28 years ago this day. I hope to see him in "that range up in the sky" (Utah Carol by Marty Robbins) one day. Thanks for the upload.
