An Insurance Underwriter career requires having an extensive education. Each Situation has regulation or Site Insurance Commission, that license underwrites, after completing required course studies, examinations, and continuing education. There is no Federal Regulatory System regarding any standard of education.
Don't waste your time on education. Good underwriters can be made with on the job training, if of course the company you work for knows how to identify a smart (not to be confused with educated) employee and is willing to train them. If you don't work in that type of environment then leave. Try becoming a Life Insurance underwriter... plenty of OJT opportunity in that field... and better pay!
