Broken Tools - 2007

In my work I study the relationships of people and the repetitive behaviors they have. I use a variety of media as a way to conduct my thoughts, including my body, lard, potato chips, paint, found objects, sculpture, performance, and video. I usually use every day objects that people can relate to on a personal level. The majority of my work is based off personal experience and through personal observation. I try to bring in the viewers personal experiences when they interpret my work to give it a different, but similar meaning to the one I was portraying. Each viewer is supposed to walk away with their own interpretation. Through video, I am showing the relationships and punishments a father can inflict upon their child.
