Remember to read the description for an in depth analysis.

Track 2 was originally meant to begin with a big power chord from the guitar as soon as track one ends. Soon after a second guitar would be introduced playing a continuous riff in the harmonic minor scale, alongside a synth playing a melody that would later of been used as a motif, it is then accompanied by a harmony. When I wrote this I did not plan anything I played what felt write to me, and also my version of my influences that have been in my head, so the reason why this piece seems random is because none of it has been properly planned. However, in a sense I could argue that it needs no planning because if the song looks at one of my earliest memories (which is a very unclear memory and very patchy) then so should the song be, but it may not sound musically attractive to the common ear. After the synthesizers and guitars stop there is the main riff, which was never developed in this song. After that plays through with nothing in the background the heart of the song is introduced. I am playing an E major broken chord to a G major 7th chord. There are held strings in the background, but I wanted there to be more. So I eventually added swells to each verse, where a held G major 7th + 11th chord is played which swells up and is killed when the vocals kick in.

When the lyrics come in on the first verse you can hear children laughing and playing in the background. This is overlaid to promote my childhood and my earliest memory. The lyrics are very important at explaining that, and do so in a perfect cheesy prog rock way. In-between the verses you can hear a beautiful guitar lick that plays in harmony which connects the verses. It feels very prog rocky to me and I still love listening to those sections. The harmony section is added a few bars after the first part is played.

Had to stop there, youtube didn't allow it any longer.
