  • When the big day comes you will play the way you practice and it looks like you guys practice alot. It was good to see the crews were able to multi task so well. I am sure your batt chief or shift chief is proud of you. The public will never truly understand what we do in our profession but GOD does! Good work, GOD bless and Cheers!

  • @wrfire Also, wrfire, thank you very much for posting a complimentary comment. It offered me the opportunity to get my post entered without starting a fight or negative comments since I am in complete agreement with you.

  • @wrfire We of course would like to treat everyone with kit gloves, extreme gentleness, kindness and understanding. That is part of why we do what we do, because we care. However, circumstances sometimes dictate how things are done. Which brings us back full circle to would you rather go with Plan A which is firefighters save you with some dragging and flopping, or go with Plan B which is you are not man handled, but are dead. Choice seems pretty clear to me. Thanks for indulging me.

  • @wrfire When you are in an evironment where you are exposed to smoke and heat, are unconscious like this person, and are about to asphyxiate or burn, chances are you are not real concerned about how you are taken out. Given that the rescuers are wearing 60-80lbs of gear, breathing through a mask that is limiting their field of vision, and now dragging/carrying a dead weight body, they are going to get you out the best they can. Yes there may be some "dragging" and "flopping". One more thing:

  • @wrfire I am posting this for the benefit of non-fire fighters. It may take two entries, so bear with me. As I have posted before, I am a retired engine capt. I was watching this particular video with some non-firefighting people last night who were very concerned about the "rough treatment" getting the victim out and "flopping him on the ground like a rag doll". Let me briefly explain why these guys are to be commended for their excellent and heroic

    effort in this video.
