From A2ZCDS:

This Lucky Strike cigarette commercial demonstrates the effects of war on the national consciousness. It used stop-motion animation to show cigarettes marching like our proud American soldiers. Beyond the historical significance of screening cigarette ads, the commercial itself is interesting in that it would have taken an enormous amount of time and effort to do the animation for this 1 minute advertisement!

  • I don´t smoke, but after this vid i do!

  • @MyCoreU - Please don't! Cigarettes are VERY hazardous to your health! These commercials are uploaded for historical, educational, and nostalgic purposes only!

  • LS/MFT.... Lucky Strike Means Future Tumors

  • @Rangerboy9404 - I was looking back at some funny comments from my videos that I saved a while back. I had saved yours. I recently opened up a t-shirt/merchandise shop and I was trying to figure out ideas for t-shirts. I thought of the idea of using viewers' comments on merch. I thought your comment was great. Would you like your comment to be featured in MiscVideos78rpm merch? Your channel name will be featured on the merch. The shop is bit.ly / MiscMerch. Thanks in advance. -Misc

  • my grandpa smoked, and died at age 50 from lung cancer. It's quite sad that my dad says my grandpa and everyone else around actually thought smoking was GOOD FOR YOU. Times have changed, and I'm glad we know smoking is bad for us....

  • Yes, watch those Luckies march like sailors, dressed in whites, on parade.

  • @MyCoreU U can smoke all u want dude, just do it discreetly and have fun

  • @MiscVideos78rpm Haha i was joking. But i already do smoke :(

  • Jam Handy, who produced several of American Tobacco's promotional films, was responsible for this stop-motion classic. "This Is My Lucky Day" is heard at the beginning, because that was the theme of Luckies' "YOUR HIT PARADE" radio show at the time (it wouldn't come to TV until 1950). Several of Luckies' radio announcers are heard, including Andre Baruch [:07] and Basil Ruysdael [:30]. Without the visuals, this was "typical" radio ad copy, usually heard on "THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM", etc.
