Zimbabwe's new banknotes - 20 Dec 07

The government of Zimbabwe has annouced it's to issue new banknotes, to tackle a crippling cash shortage in the country.

Notes worth Z$250,000, Z$500,000 and Z$750,000 will go into circulation within the next 24 hours.

Al Jazeera is the only international news network with a permanent presence inside Zimbabwe. Our correspondent, Supa Mandiwanzira, takes a closer look at the country's cash crisis.

The situation has improved with the use of foreign currency instead of Zim-notes.

In the long run however, the use of a currency that you can't augment (print) in step with your economic growth will impoverish the nation at the rate of global inflation.

i dont want to go into too much detail on this but... arent u meant to respect other religions? i mean. religion conflicts are the cause of wars. dont diss other religions.
