But Kareem proved too intellectual and deep-thinking for the shallowness of the American sports media.

I just heard Vecsey tonight on WFAN (with Steve Somers) saying he considered turning down the HOF, and keeps the trophy in his garage. I always considered him an arrogant, unfunny ass who thinks he's bigger than the story and the game. But he proved that he's even worse. What a total asshole. Glad to see most others here agree.
