4 movements from the Telemann suite and the Turkish march from Lully(baroque trumpet and cornett). Played with the Nardo Bydelorkester under J. Utness.
@robertmai64 Thanks Robert! It is a lot of fun, but not easy to switch in the end to cornett: I had to warm up only on trumpet not to mess up my lips, so suddenly taking the cornett and playing was challenging (but easier than the other way round)! We will see if the next concert goes better or worse...
@StradMan37 Thanks David, much appreciated! A few unwanted clams here and there, but had it been perfect, I would be a household name in both hemispheres. Makes one admire even more one's idols... In fact, you are right that I felt relaxed (maybe a tad too much!); this comes with age and experience and is perhaps the only advantage of the amateur players: we are there to enjoy and do not depend on our trumpeting for a living!
Actually, you (and fellow baroque trumpeters/cornettists) sound very nice - the movement with the drums is my favorite - must be the Lully. Also, the one that starts at about 2:08 has, I think, the finest trpting.
All of the trumpets sound really relaxed 'n' comfy with their instruments, which makes a huge diffo in the general "feel" of the music.
Nice sized crowd too, judging from the well-deserved applause you received, at the end!
