I love the sound of cicadas. To me, it means summer is here. I just made a video of cicadas in Yokohama yesterday.

@docsnoek they are pretty loud, destroy garbage, and steal pic nics but their caws are part of the sounds of tokyo :)

This brings back so many memories of when i lived in japan, and the semi used to sing and lure me to sleep... It was so nice

A lot of people find cicadas annoying, but I personally find it relaxing and almost necessary for summer. It feels empty living somewhere you can't really hear them...

@docsnoek God I love those sounds. Here in Mexico, we used to have cicadas when summer came, now they are gone due to growth in population and buildings. I love cicadas, they were a beautiful part of my childhood, wish they could come back. Regarding the crows, I love them too, but they make a different sound here!! Never would've thought they were crows, I was thinking it was more like a crane, thanks for clearing that up, I had been wondering for a long time what it was. Good day.

@95stangdude The "kaw-kaw"? It's a crow. They are everywhere in Tokyo, other cities have rats, Tokyo has crows...
