  • You went to Chernobyl to measure the radiation?

  • No, I went on a day trip from Kiev. There's a bus for tourists twice a week. The visiting time is limited to you don't get exposed to a dangerous level of radiation, so it's fairly safe.

  • Pinnacle point in the fall of the USSR (Chernobyl) PR disaster internally and internationally, when western Europe detected high radiation there was no chance for a cover up, they withheld the truth even from Russian citizens for a week, Mayday celebrations were going on in a cloud of fallout. Now everyone is fearful of nuclear power when it could solve all energy needs and replace fossil fuels globally under proper scrutiny/well funded circumstances.

  • Sascha dont't scared as

  • I guess, if I wanted to understand the measurements here, I can think of this as fallout 3... Standing where they are standing, its like what... a quarter of a rad/second? And if somebody stood inside of the reactor itself, its like 5 rads/sec?

Only there is no such thing as radaway, and if I got dosed up on that, I wouldnt get rid of it...?

  • @hrkaci what is this in millisievert?

  • @benjmorg key word: fairly ;)

  • 3417 rentgens per hour ? WOW

  • What is most sinister about this structure (the Sarcophagus) is its look combined with its function. I mean, inside this iron/concrete building, theres something so dangerous that you could literally say this is Devil's Graveyard.

    :/

  • Are you dying of cancer now?

  • @Audiocrazed Sometimes you gotta get the word out anyway you can.
