G20 protesters have got nothing on Spanish soccer fans, it would seem, as thousands took to Toronto streets to celebrate Spain's first-time World Cup win. At Bathurst Street and College Street, a sea of red-clad fans waving Spain flags and blowing vuvuzelas flooded the street and climbed atop streetcars and TTC platforms. TTC service was temporarily suspended along Dundas Street, College Street and Bathurst Street because of the impromptu street partying. "There is was no streetcar service on the 505 Dundas, 506 Carlton and 511 Bathurst routes due to World Cup celebrations,"
Those standing on top of a streetcar are stupid! Don't they know streetcars run on electricity from the overhead wire right above them?? They could be killed with one touch to the live wire!

@Torcan1 Just think of the Darwin awards they could have handed out to their bereaved families!

Unbelievably stupid to climb on top of the streetcar. All those people have no idea how close they all came to dying. TTC was barely in time to shut down the elictricity when they saw this happening. Everyone could have been killed with 600 volts running through their bodies.
