Sentimental arguments about 'making it on our own' don't really make sense unless there's some kind of practical incentive to leave the union. I generally find that those who are most genuinely passionate about independence are (knowingly or not) just using it as a pretext to express their hatred of England. Im a Scottish History student and all the things I have studied show me that we did pretty well out of the Union

@formandoify PS since my comment wouldnt fit :P we'd need a new currency (unless we adopt the Euro which might not even last out the year), we'd almost certainly have a smaller national income to contend with which probably wouldn't go well with the fact that Scottish politicians love to throw money at things and breaking up the defence establishment looks like a nightmare. Furthermore I personally think we would be ok independent, we are just better United.

we are far from better united, we are the only oil producing nation that got POORER.
Also as for the euro... not fussed abo9ut Eu membership. being part of the free trade agreement, now that is important.

ROFL then you didn't learn much about how badly Scotland has been ripped of and also you have no seen ANY of the arguments put forward in this comments section.i am in my 2nd last year of a degree which includes Scottish history and Scottish studies and i can tell you for a fact you are talking utter GUFF.
Also it's nothing to do with hatred of anyone. just because you want your country free love that country does not mean you hate. don't judge by your poor standards
