I'm not the biggest country fan out there, but almost every time I'm riding in the car with my favorite someone she plays Rascal Flatts, and this particular song is my favorite of theirs to date (trust me, I've heard them all several times now!).
Not my usual song selection, but hey - this song's pretty cool and was a ton of fun to play!

In this video and every one after, I have overheads, but in the first 25 or so that I put up, I just let the drum mics pick up the cymbals.
Having recorded both ways, I'd definitely recommend the overheads, particularly for picking up the high end of cymbals.

Haha well, country really isn't my thing, but if I had to pick my favorite country song, this would be it.
Besides, I thought my girlfriend Kathleen would enjoy it, hence the intro dedication!

Haha...no, I haven't thought about that. I really, really cannot stand rap, and I really, REALLY wouldn't want to put up a video that would have people making comparisons between me and Travis Barker, lol.
I do appreciate the suggestion, but when I said down below that I wouldn't mind doing more mainstream stuff, I meant along rock lines, or maybe even pop... but listening to any kind of rap or R&B-type stuff makes my head hurt! :)

Mainstream isn't usually my thing, but I definitely enjoyed covering this song - when you say "songs that are more known," do you have any in mind? I might check some of them out and consider doing them in the future.
