  • We need more journalists like Chauncey...Your video brought tears to my eyes. May the Next Chauncey Bailey Rise Up!!! I second that. Thank you for all the wonderful work you are doing Zennie. Good Night and Good Luck

  • Thank you for this great piece. When the shock of Chauncey Bailey's murder is over, I hope at this much attention is focused on his writings as his death. What a powerful body of work he created that's as relevant as when written years ago or last week. I'm sure Edward R. Murrow is proud of Chauncey Bailey too. We should have read and listened more to him when he was alive.

Chauncey is now a spirit, not a ghost. Long live Chauncey Bailey!

  • Damn. I'm sorry to hear that.

  • R.I.P. Mr. Bailey.

  • Somebody wanted cuzz head..its that simple!

  • This is another shameful and insolent act in such a dynamic city that is overshadowed by circumstances similar to this. We in the Oakland community will miss this great and prolific individual and say a prayer for his kin.I sincerely hope this death serves as a reminder that the minority communities of Oakland must mobilize appropriately in order to address the issue of violence and it's roots to ameliorate the conditions in the city that hinder us so frequently.
