It may be called a basic need, but just two months ago, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) appealed for at least US$230 million to provide emergency food assistance to the 3.8 million Kenyans affected by drought and subsequent high food prices. But with no land and little hope for any, residents living in Kibera, the biggest slum in East Africa have found an ingenious way to feed their families amid sky rocketing food prices.
