Your not wrong there brother. What would General Booth make of the latest interpretations of the classics, opera or pop standards? I like send the Fire best, better than the national anthem, but of course I want Her Majesty to get saved too...Blood and Fire, washed in the Blood, filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit. Its too radical for the modern twee people I suppose. Booth knew you had to be radical and militant to challenge the darkness that was holding sinners captive..

In the early days they probably couldn't read music well and didn't know what dynamics were. What a fabulous presentation.

It is interesting to note that the brief flash of historical trivia shows the band as playing OUTSIDE where all the "sinners" are, whereas the modern rendition is played in a Salvation Army Hall. Tragically our mujsical forces have moved radically from evangelism of the lost to entertainment of the faithful in the latter years of the Army's history..
