Showcase 2009 Top 10 Bands Announced

The top 10 bands announced counting down from #10. This is where we get to see and hear them announce Catholic High as "second place Reserve Grand Champion!" They were only 3 points behind the first-place band and this is the best Catholic has ever done at Showcase! I had goosebumps!!

The kids might have been a little excited, too. :o)

Is it a coincidence that Lafayette wins every year, and I understand like 3 years in a row, but haven't they won the past 10 years? That's highly unlikely for a band.

@Craziness31 I believe one of the reasons they win so often is the sheer size of the band. When you have more people to choose from odds are you're going to end up with more really good players. I'm sure that most of their success goes to the band director, though. All the talent in the world is pretty worthless without someone to guide it. They've simply got an awesome band program, that's all.

@ExtremelyTiredDad I understand that they have a very excellent program, but schools hardly ever win 10 years in a row, because their show is not the best show every year.

@Craziness31 I understand your point & part of me agrees with it, but even as a parent of a band member of a competing school I'm choosing to stick with my explanation. Winning 10 years in a row is a very unlikely scenario, but not impossible & the judges' idea of what is best likely differs from what you or I consider best. I'm not saying it's always right, just that it's the way things happen. I say we do the civil thing & simply agree to disagree. We can also hope someone else wins soon!

@skateboardingking I don't know what you're asking. If that was the title of a show I can't tell you since we didn't purchase a DVD of the whole Showcase event. We were only there from the time the CHS/SJA band performed until they announced the top 10. Sorry.

At the end i hear a man in the background saying what about St. Amant?
