Great video-- very informative and well annotated. Why the note about the Pyrex glass? What's the issue and how do I avoid it as I'm in the US.

@GentlemansAle Thanks. Pyrex jugs in the UK are made from Borosilicate glass, the same as laboratory glassware (source wikipedia) which is better for use directly over a flame. Soda Lime isn't unfortunately and is more likely to crack and break. If you can get hold of lab glassware such as a small Erlenmeyer flask that would be even better. You can grow the yeast on in it if you want, just cover the opening with foil.
