Yes, they are american type 2-8-2 mikados. And that's why they're nicknamed as "Liberation" Libération" or "Mcarthur" locomotives. They're built between 1945 and 1947 Baldwin, Lima, Alco, MLW (Montreal Lcomotive Works) and CLC (Canadian Lcomotive Works) based on an Baldwin design.

the locomotive 141R of the SNCF, is one of my favorite steam locomotives. i like its shape and its wheel-arrangement [2-8-2/ or 1-D-1]. very nice video. thank you.
