PATANGIS-BUWAYA [...and the crocodile weeps....] composed by Jonas Baes in 2003 for four wind instruments from any culture; here in a live rendition by traditional musicians from Ho Chih Minh City in Vietnam during the 1st Ho Chi Minh Festival of Contemporary Music in 2007. The instruments used include the sao truc [tiew]. This performance by traditional musicians is in fact very significant, relative to its context, as this is the first time such group of performers engaged into the language [idiom] of "contemporary" or "new music".
