thank you very much for your reply. just giving my own views (and i respect yours) but i have been involved with ferrets since i was 14 years old im now 49.dogs no killing young, but ferrets and some cats yes if you handle the kits or kittens when young. but thank you very much for your reply
@kevin48800 That's like saying if a dog licks a 6-month-old, its mother will kill it because the smell of the dog is on it. Either way, this is just a false rumor about animals. Even though offspring and parents have been seperated for life, animals have a more sensitive smell than humans and can store 500+ smells in their smell database. Also, every animal has its own unique horomones, and thus smells differntly, like a snowflake. The difference isn't invisible to absolutely everything.
@Wolfgirl2help You're not far off with the "sire" part. A sire is the father of any chosen animal (horse, dog, e.t.c.,), and is also the first of the parents to be mentioned in the pedigree. The dam is the mother of the offspring.
