  • When teaching horses in this fashion, which I do, we see how desperately horses want to be "good", in their behavior, and try soo hard. They take "manners" to a whole new level, right up to courtesy and consideration. What wonderful creatures and teachers. And I must reply to the question about dogs vs. horses. Any species is easy to teach, with a clicker:)

  • @myprophet1 Thankyou for a great comment :o)) Yes, ALL animals love to interact and actually have fun when training if a marker and reinforcer is used during training sessions :o))

  • Horses are amazing and people like you are the ones who inspired me to train with positive reinforcement methods. I have an unbelievable bond with my horse now. Thank you for showing people that you don't have to terrorize to teach!

  • @babyhorsey6 This is so great to hear ! I owe my horse a lot of gratitude, without her I could not show people how wonderful horsemanship can be, for both horse and handler :o)

I love my horse, she is a best friend to me!

  • That is beautiful and the song goes perfect I'm glad to see people finally being gentle with the training

  • @bcatha Thankyou :o) I am also happy that gentle methods are being used, I personally cannot promote them enough x I also have a video in which Candy has her finished Spanish Walk !

  • Thankyou :o)

  • brilliant...:)

  • Yeah it does. (:

    thanks

  • I gently touch my horses leg and the split second she moves it, I then click to tell her yes I want you to focus on this leg and then I give her a treat.

I gradually build on this, my horse lifting her leg a little bit more each lesson, eventually doing a full leg lift.

A click during training links up two things- me asking my horse a question and eventually her doing what I ask.

It is Positive Reinforcement- Clicker Training.

    Hope this helps :o)
