  • Hi Guys. Did you ever here of vikings went to america 500 years before columbus did?maybe the movie says AMERICA is valhalla. valhalla is a symbol for america? the place where men train, prepare and party until the last battle starts? the battle no one will win? the battle that crushes the earth into peaces? maybe valhalla is a symbol for that. greetings from Germany

  • Thanks!!!

  • @EmbraceTheHate As i myself am a follower of Ancient Slavic deities i don't agree with the above message i stated, but that's just how I see it. The next person might interpret it in his own way. All in all i hoped he'll die FIGHTING the natives but i guess this movie is about symbolism not bloodshed. Too bad.

  • Well from what i can tell every actor represents a role. One eyed representing paganism, he is strong and self sufficient, he believes in himself which makes him unbeatable. The crusaders representing Christianity and their fanatical need to spread the cross. It shows the fall of Christianity with the Crusaders dying, and it shows how One eyed symbolically gave his life so the child may live, the child might represent Atheism as it sees that gods don't actually help anyone in the end.

  • some christians decided to celebrate the birth of christ at the same time pagans were celebrating the birth of the sun, the actual birth of christ was within 12 days of christmas; hence "the twelve days of christmas". it was a pragmatic solution which meant people didnt have to abandon ancient communal festivities which were important for social reasons. winter was tough, it was appropriate that these community celebrations should not be abandoned in the name of christianity

  • this is the dumbest fucking movie ever....i dont wannna figure the movie out just tell me wtf is going on

  • @ChangelingsSiren they went from scotland to north america...in the beginning one of the main vikings describes as one eye being one of the most powerful savages in sutherland or something like that..sutherland is a region in scotland

  • Odin is one-eyed... Dont search for a message: If you havent gotten one then there is none... for You.

    I enjoyed this trip...

  • My interpretation of the ending in the simplest matter (no religion involved though there is probably in the sub-text) is that in the beginning of the film, One-Eye is "driven by hate so he survives, why he never loses" but after growing a bond with the boy he chooses to sacrifice himself. He abolishes his hate, let's go and finds something worth fighting for which is why throughout the film he's killed anyone who tries to harm the boy.

  • @117piehitman good question
