Oh, she can do power. There is a HUGE voice that can rise out of that tiny frame. Have you heard "Troy?" I'll never forget her near a capella rendition in 1989 or so. A moment of stunned silence gripped the entire audience as we sat flattened into the back of our seats by the sheer force of her voice, then burst into applause.

Here, she's being deliberately understated and vulnerable. I kept waiting for her to cut loose and attack the song, but I think it is tremendously effective like this.
