Today we'll try together one the most famous Cuban cocktails, the mojito, whose great flavor is given by mint leaves, lime and cane sugar. Find this and many more recipes on the Giallozafferano App in English http://itunes.apple.com/app/giallozafferano-recipes/id384387249?mt=8

If you love mint like I do, the cocktail recipe I'm going to propose is right what you need: a fragrant mojito. Would you like to prepare it with me? Well, let's see the ingredients.
Let's see together what ingredients we'll need to make an excellent mojito:
• 3 ½ tbsp (50 ml) of white rum
• Few drops of angostura
• 2-3 tsp of cane sugar
• 6 mint leaves • The juice of 1 lime (about 1/5 of the drink)
• 1 dash of soda (which is optional)
• Some crushed ice
Well, let's make together our mojito:
First of all, take a pestle and a tall thick glass; now add the mint leaves into the glass... the cane sugar... and pound to release the precious mint aroma. Now add the lime juice... and after that, plenty of ice. Now add the rum... a couple of drops of angostura... mix everything... then you can add a dash of soda to taste.
All we have to do now is decorate the mojito with some fresh mint leaves, a couple of straws, and taste it in all its fragrance. From Sonia and GialloZafferano, bye and see you next videorecipe.

  • can i use different sugar? I don't have cane sugar. brown sugar works?

  • @Kathyle207 yes, use any sugar you like! It just has to be in crystals, in order to pound it with lime

  • Is it that hot where you live or this is old recipe?

  • @kucibaba2 The video was recorded in summer, but this is a recipe we largely use also in winter... at home!

  • @Kathyle207

cane sugar and brown sugar is the same....

  • what she's doing to those mint leafs in wrong. the mint shoud not be "'splashed mint" like potate.if you do that your mojito will get bitter. you can simple put the leafs into your palms and hit it 2, 3 times. enjoy.

  • @Kathyle207 I suggest brown sugar for the flavour, it will suit perfect with the rum and mint,.
