Possibly Mercury.....or is it something else....? The sequence ends at 19.08 03 July 2009. As of 10.00 GMT, no data further data available from STEREO Behind COR2. Will check again at 00.00 GMT.

It may be because it is Independence day....time will tell. I for one am very interested to see the observations from 04,05,06 July 2009.

Will also try to confirm it as Mercury...

  • I find it odd that late in the day there were no behind COR2 images at all and still are none. Then we stopped seeing COR1 new images. Lets say it IS Mercury, then why the stop in images? Is it from the holiday? If it's just an asteroid or whatever hitting the sun, why would there need to be all the images stopped? I was looking forward to seeing this thing do whatever it did (which I'm sure would be just burn up in the sun if it hit the sun) - like I wanted to see a nice big CME or whatever.

  • Exactly....my thoughts precisely....
