Set in Northern Uganda, a country ravaged by more than two decades of civil war, WAR/DANCE tells the story of Dominic, Rose, and Nancy, three children whose families have been torn apart, their homes destroyed, and who currently reside in a displaced persons camp in Patongo. When they are invited to compete in an annual music and dance competition, their historic journey to their nation's capital is also an opportunity to regain a part of their childhood and to taste victory for the first time in their lives.

the movie look beautiful..i have to get my mitts on it...has anyone here ever been to africa..id like to go one day for a month or so..but im a little ignorant to which part is safe or unsafe.
This video was so amazing, I watch small parts of it everyday..my hart goes out to the people of Uganda and to many parts of "Mama". God bless Africa. By the way the Acholi totally kicked A** in the traditional dance catagory....they definitely earned that award!
Really? Black people can go to post-secondary school free just because of their skin colour? When did this happen?
The fact that you just compared discrimination against the Irish to slavery and genocide is not only offensive, but in the end laughable. Not to mention the fact that the first large waves of Irish emigration began just before slavery had finished, nearly 300 years after it began.
Only a fucking liberal would say the things you do. And communists are usually just extreme liberals. In fact, I'm quite sure that if you were born in the USA, you voted for Obama, and are drooling over our descent into Socialism, then hoping for the next step. By the way, have you ever had a job? You sound like a lifetime student who's spent entirely too much time reading books and not enough on the playground. While I understand your language, it is not how normal people communicate.
"communists are usually just extreme liberals" *head desk* 1) I'm Canadian 2) I don't support Obama 3) The fact that you compare socialism and liberalism is comical, as is the fact that you capitalised "socialism", probably means that you know everything you do about it from watching Glenn Beck. Nothing Obama has done is socialist in the least. I'm 20, I've been working for 7 years, I did a brief stint in the military, and I'm living in Germany right now on a work visa.
These comments are meant to be about the movie, and a wonderful movie at that. Would you mind keeping your judgments about others who post here, and their views, to yourself? Let us express our opinions please, free from your vitriol.
Thank you. A white, homosexual, liberal, HIV-positive, iced-latte-drinking, mass-transit-advocating-but-no netheless-two-time-Volvo-drivi ng, proudly socialist American. (Well, actually I'm a closet heterosexual, but we won't get into that...)
