@2e0hts - I'm sure it was for economic reasons way back then! I would love to visit. My daughter spent a week there her last semester of college and enjoyed it immensely. Scotland is stunning from everything I've seen of it (photos, vids, etc.)

most videos on scotland are absolutely stupid, boring, wrongly seen, pathetic, cheap and simply done without love and respect, just like this one here. you do scotland a small servoce by producing such crap. but then ...maybe its better that way so less tourists stroll about here to cram their ignorance into the land
