Well, special thanks to Reed Ghazala, who sent me some really killer cold war era military surplus lamps. The big one says BEAM READY, and the smaller one has the atomic symbol, hence the name. Enjoy

  • Mike....is that you?

  • who ARE you?

  • it's an lED chaser kit( I used an 8 segment display instead of actual LEDS) combined with a small "optical" Theremin) It uses IR leds instead of the photocells. oh, there is an audio amp circuit as well!

  • You make such neat stuff! Love those old panel indicators with mechanical shutter dimmer caps.

  • My sister lived next door to Reed, thats where I met him..Most don't know Reed is a great drummer..We had a band in the late 60's and early 70's called Yarmoth Port...I was there to hear the very first 'Oder Box'..

  • an old friend! hehe. It's me..... allan

  • i must say all your builds are splendind. unfortunately i cant think of a possible application other than pure aesthetics for any of these. would you mind explaining to me what the use of a box tht produces squelches and beeps is for (other than the sheer awesomness and scifi/steampunk value they all hold)

  • This is excellent! What's the circuit in there?

    thanks a lot!
