This is a shot demonstrating the layers involved with creating Visual FX for movies and tv shows. In this example you will be seeing the Tigers Nest Monastery in the Himalayan mountains as a girl walks towards the edge to get a better look. The background scenery , which is called a Digital Matte Painting, was created by blending 3 still jpeg images found on the internet. The floor and fence in the scene are Computer Generated 3D and the texturing of these objects where projected onto them with jpeg images also found on the internet. The girl is live action video which was filmed in front of a green screen. A technique called 3D camera tracking was used so that the movement of the ground, fence and background mountains match the movement of the green screen footage exactly. Another technique called Matchmoving was also used. This was done by taking a 3d woman figure and her skirt and animating it to match the movement of the girl in the video footage. This was done only to generate the shadow of the woman on the 3D generated ground. All 3D work and camera tracking was done in Autodesk Maya Software and all of the final layers and FX where composited using Adobe After Effects Software. In this demo you will see the Final result as will as a breakdown of the process involved
Thx. I used Maya for the 3D and AfterEffects to put it all together.
