@SuperHouseTV - speaking as someone who has been thinking "gotta write a blog post in the next 8 weeks, before it hits the 2 year mark", I understand how hard it is to find the time.
Maybe I dislike podcasts and video blogs because I don't have any travel time - the 30 seconds down the hall to my office doesn't really allow for a lot of podcast listening :)

I enjoyed the discussion of ARM stuff, but I'm not particularly fond of the video blog format - mostly because they just occupy too much time. Of the 62 currently unread items in my RSS feed, they're all vlog/podcasts because each one takes 1-2 minutes to decide if I want to skip it or not. Even playing them at 1.5x (the fastest I can easily comprehend even w/ pitch shift), there's 6.5 hours or so of video sitting there unwatched. More time than I have, and I only follow 3 vlog/podcasts feeds!
For some types of presentation where the visuals really count a video blog is the best format, but for the majority of things I think a written entry beats them. Especially for things like the drivetime/walktime rants - there's nothing there that couldn't have been said better in writing. It's easier for you to get your thoughts down, but makes the reader pay the price with their time.

@thaytan Yes, I understand your point. I prefer to write and I can do it fairly fast, but I thought this would be an interesting experiment just to see how it turns out. I'm sure some people will prefer it, some will hate it. The reality is that 10 months went by without a (written) blog post by me, so perhaps this will not be an end in itself but a kick-start to get that going again. Personally I've found recently that I like audio-only podcasts: great for travel time.
