  • And hey just curious.. what was the routing you guys took??

  • Hi camper905, thanks for the positive comments!

Its been a few years since this trip, I really had to dig back through my log books to find out our route plan. I don't have an APP map in front of me, but it looks like we went from Kioshkokwi L -> White Birch L -> Mouse L -> Erables L -> Maple Ck.

We had planned to travel on Maple Ck, but it was wide open, and the shoreline was too bushy to travel along. So we started bushwhacking. From there and my notes I can't quite (cont'd)

  • tell where we went, but eventually we made it back to Kioshkokwi L. I recall feeling like we were really seeing the hidden side of APP once we started bushwhacking. We travelled on some logging roads, saw a lot of active logging, passed over a really neat bridge on an old rail bed. The other thing I recall is how tired we were on that final day after we decided Maple Ck wasn't going to work!

Total distance looks like about 48km.

  • It looks like you guys had a ton of fun, kind of reminds me of my video "Fun at The Idaho City Yurt"

  • @lureofthenorth I KNEW the start of the trip looked familiar... I did a trip from Kiosk a few months ago... went Kiosk > WhiteBirch > Mink etc... But looks like you guys turned the other way. But you are right... going in the off season is a way different atmosphere there and that's why watching winter videos vs.spring/summer/fall makes a place usually familiar to someone, a completely different journey! Thanks again for sharing! I've gotta get me on a real winter trip!

  • Awesome.. looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Being positive and great sense of humor helps too, just like you all had! Good stuff!!!

  • Rad! It looks like you guys are a lot of fun to be around.
