The Reverend Professor Peter J. Gomes is an American Baptist minister ordained to the Christian Ministry by The First Baptist Church of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Since 1970 he has served in The Memorial Church, Harvard University; and since 1974 as Plummer Professor of Christian Morals and Pusey Minister in The Memorial Church.
His most recent work, The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus, includes extensive commentary and observation on the interrelations of Church and State throughout history and particularly in recent US history.
Alan Jones, Ph.D., has been dean of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco since 1985. Jones was formerly the director of the Center for Christian Spirituality and Stephen F. Bayne Professor of Ascetical Theology at General Theological Seminary in New York City. Born and educated in England, Jones was also on the staff of Trinity Institute of Wall Street's Trinity Church. He became a citizen of the United States in 1975.Jones is the author of several books, most notably, Soul Making, The Desert Way of Spirituality, Passion for Pilgrimage and most recently, The Soul's Journey: Exploring the Three Passages of the Spiritual Life with Dante as a Guide.

@KnottCoBoys Me and many other Americans are not Christians and do not answer to your god or your bible. We do not answer to your religious law so how can you dictate our choices? You do realize that Christianity is not the only religion in them U.S. don't you?

Yes marriage has been a long tradition between man and woman and no your attempts to cram down your beliefs on us all will fail.

@onebadgs400 If thinking that only men and women belong together makes you happy and feel smug about being better then everyone else, then by all means practice it.
Just don't try and cram your religious beliefs down my throat and make your decisions mandatory for everyone. Also the "death of tradition" comment is the most unbelievably ignorant thing I have ever heard. Have you ever even met a gay person?

the death of tradition... this is the goal of the gay movement. You can't be a GAY Christian. ALCOHOLIC Christian. FAMOUS Christian...etc whatever title. All these are titles in front of Christ. Also, look how feminine John looks in the paintings. Jewish men took pride in long beards because it was a sign of virility and masculinity. Both Jesus and John are clean shaven in many, if not most, pictures. It is so obvious now that I see it. Jesus was a homosexual. THIS IS WHY HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING AGAINST HOMOSEXUALS IN THE BIBLE. IT ALWAYS CAME FROM OTHER SPEAKERS. Think about it. He hangs out with 12 guys, he is LIBERAL, and the only woman he hangs with is a whore!!! BINGO
