@jimmychuang tex doug collins phil and every other critic always talked about how damn long kobe took to make a decision even after he was in position to make a play for others. he preffered to jump and shoot ? what did it get him? undoubtedly from all the players ive ever seen the best shooter with a hand in his face and offbalance beyond 16 feet, and a horrible efficiency as well as teammates who are pissed off. but as someone said thats kobe at least hes not pretending

@jimmychuang the point of triangle offense is being unselfish being able to pass move without the ball without being predictable, to shoot when open or getting open needs 1 simple move. pass accurately, move without ball, receive ball, shoot or drive if the %s are good, else pass or move with the ball and set up another triangle. it sounds so simple but you cant double team any of the 3 active guys without spreading the floor and allowiing the passives to get a backdoor; real team spirit

@drsaberkhan Not only KB, the whole Lakers can't play same triangle with 90s Bulls. Those old school players familiar with that kind of team play.
If you run triangle smoothly it is art.

@drsaberkhan I remember KB had several seasons his FGA more than Shaq, in one or two season his FGA more than Shaq but PPG lower than Shaq.
If prime Shaq is there, no way KB should be 1st offense player in his team because Shaq is a more effective offense player. And opponent always double and triple him, he can create huge opportunity for outside players.

@jimmychuang he said that in his HOF speech we never saw that in the footage though it was 96 i think. against vancouver or against toronto pip was on the bench. shaq didnt wanna be coached he had problems with penny hardaway and phil and tex too. but they all adapted. hell shaq adapted and kobe didnt. eventually kobe did love tex and phil but kobe was never ready to give up the gifts he had for the team. thats a big mental thing in my opinion & why phil criticised kobe

@drsaberkhan yeah I know one time MJ scored 19 pts in last 6 mins and Bulls won, Text told him "there is no I in team", MJ replied "there is I in WIN"
They fight but not break their relations, they still happily work together. They built a great team, no fight can take that away.
But not in Lakers, in Lakers there always have some problem, if Kobe is there. First with Shaq, in their struggle 3 yrs, Phil, and Kobe's teammates unhappy to him, and then last season, they fuck up again

@drsaberkhan btw id suggest you stop referring to phil as coach and just call him the ringmaster. cuz he wasnt the playmaking guy. that was ALLL tex on offense. on defense it was really the pip-jordan show. another reason jordan played the triangle was he got his dunks on transition which he did A LOT. took the need to showboat out. jordan was schooled in fundamentals in college kobe didnt get the chance. btw tex was always unhappy with mj not passing taking bad shots (even the ones he hit :)

@drsaberkhan now odoms not selfish you say. YES EXACTLY! he still struggles the reason is there are set plays in the triangle, the ball can go anywhere, its not ok were going to kobe its using any defensive space while setting up various triangles side to side. odoms not selfish but he suffers. i dont know odoms history but i BET he didnt play college either. and unlike kobe, mj took pride in passing and making a fool of the opponent. he enjoyed it. kobe doesnt. he puts scoring over everything

@drsaberkhan i also think and this is conjecture, kbs idea of the triangle may have been presumed by hs dad cuz the nba 70s triple post (triangles name then) had a rep of being the unathletic players' game. and the triangle neeeded unselfishness. as a young guy who can dunk and dribble thats like a regime that says dont do anything you want. it comes out of playing highschool where heroball is necessary. odom is a modern day pip btw notice how he struggles with the triangle as well

@drsaberkhan ofcourse kobe takes blame, but phil wasnt such a smily nice guy. he wanted total belief everyone had to believe him. he got JORDAN to listen to him, and this brat comes along who is nothing and he aint listening to shaq who was the man since mj left. all those shaq-kobe wars were just the surface representation of the the real fight which was phil-kobe (everyone was on phils side). kobe felt `i can score faster' he HAS NEVER BELIEVED IN or depended on team help if you notice.
He used the Kobe commentary to make fun of KB42PAH's "Kobe Bryant vs Zone Defense" video.
