Actually there is a verse in the Qur'an calling for all believing women to wear hijab. If you are a Muslim woman you hijab because Allah said to, not for any other reason. Just like the video points out, everyone is a slave to something whether it's the media or the belief in a higher being. A woman wearing hijab oppresses a man's "right" to objectify her and that's why there is such a big deal made about it. If no one is forcing me to wear hijab how am I oppressed?

@Ameenameer Read Quran properly again and obey the sunnah of prophet (saw)... the rules of life is in Quran, how to obey those rules are showed to us during the life of our prophet. U show me a single verse in Quran on how to pray! u cant! coz Quran only says to pray but prophet only showed us how to pray. Even Hajj too! So use ur common sense and open eyes and see the difference of how men is attracted to a lady with a scarf and without a scarf. Scarf is to protect women's modesty

@timbohp what is freedom and expression? Who REALLY has the final word? its based on ideas that exist in a given society. what you consider to be "free" is oppression to others. Just like you have promises to back your argument so do they. How do you know you are not "programmed" to see the way you do? what you consider to be freedom of expression? If you say dress what you wish, then whose fashions are you following? what style trend? if you tailored your own clothes, what patterns, shapes?

I think this is an excellent example of how both commercialism and religion-of any kind, fight to control our thoughts and actions, and manipulate us away from freedom and expression.

please post the verse in the quran calling for all believing women to wear hijab. i've never seen it and i'm a muslim. while i have no trouble with someone choosing to wear hijab, the logic here is childish.
