  • thank you to all that commented on my video , i did take the tar paper out, and this year i used the soil from my garden over the years and planted stright in the ground, plus i did a carboard garden ( red neck garden) look it up on google thats what its called lol , and i thought i was trying something new, i will have a video up of how that is turning out , thanks again for commenting good or bad

  • Not a bad way to do it! I was considering doing something simialr myself. Thanks for posting this step by step vid! Most important, it looks like you all had a blast doing it. In the end, that's what's important!

  • thank you we did have a great time doing it, and it turned out to be a great garden

  • PAINFUL

  • what ever

  • "tar" in tar paper is asphalt which is loaded with carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). I'd take it out of the ground fast

  • Great job...wouldn't recomend the tar paper at the bottom though. Tar is from petrochemicals and petrochemicals can cause cancer...apparently that is y texas

is the cancer capital inthe usa. well done on your begie garden

  • Way cute! Great garden! Good for you!

  • To bad we cannot put something up to keep the jerks away like you do the CD' s for the birds LOL, Great Video, Thx for sharing...

  • @Momaduck62 agree momaduck, what is wrong with the music? nothing. The only thing wrong is the negative comment about it. So go build a no dig garden, and pick your own music, and post it on yt for us all to enjoy.

  • Great job Momaduck62!! Thanx so much for sharing. I'm a "backyard farmer" myself and I just enjoy seeing what others are doing/how they're doing it. Don't bother about the negative comments, particulary the unproductive ones.

Just go for the ones that give you something to work with and you'll be ok. Yes, there may be other much cheaper/perhaps less time consuming methods to do what you did; but you also gave people ideas through your demo!

Others have been encouraged in the process!! Thanx.

  • There was a time that weeding was one big problem for me. I found the answer. It is worth it to invest in a shredder. I paid about $300 for mine. Put lots of mulch around the base of your plants and you will have no weeds. Works real good for me. Check YouTube, there are some good video's on making a shredder out of an old lawnmower. Might want to try that and save a few dollars. Good luck to all of you garderners.

  • Great video. Thanks for showing us. I wanted to comment on the tar paper, but I see others already did. :)

Another note I would like to make is that I really hope you guys are making your own compost by now. It's easy, rewarding and saves you from taking trash to the curb.

    I wish you good harvests!
