Public education is the topic on this edition of Quorum. The Mississippi Department of Education oversees the teaching of almost half a million children, from kindergarten to 12th grade. Public education is the largest portion of the state's budget. However, poor academic achievement and falling graduation rates raise the question of whether Mississippians are getting their money's worth from public education. What can lawmakers do this Session that will have a positive impact on efforts to teach Mississippi's children? Reps. Cecil Brown and Kimberly Campbell Buck join Senators Lee Yancey and Gray Tollison for this edition of QUORUM.
