@youngbeliever Yeah you can now, they've just done it out with really nice new tatami and fresh wooden beams. They use it for Shogi tournaments and things, which is a cool way to use it I think!

hello,im a follower of you. I have a question:
im learning japanese throught the ds game, My japanese coach, and even when i havent started with kanji,I wonder how is possible to learn/remember all these symbols.
is there any trick to learn kanji?
thanks and that house is so freaking awesome

@h2o1h2o1 The trick is that although there are several thousand, they're not totally different. After a while you start seeing that many of them are just combinations of other ones.
Just like an English written word is made up of different letters, many kanji are made up of other kanji. It makes it a lot easier - just like learning phonics is much easier than learning to write 10s of thousands of English words!

So what city would you say'd be the best for a first time visit to Japan?
LizzyChan101 1 year ago 5
@LizzyChan101 For just one city I'd say Kyoto. Tokyo's good but Kyoto has more of the temples and history and it's much easier to get out into the countryside i.e. the real Japan!
Other good things are to hire a car and circumnavigate Kyushu and Shikoku islands. Hiroshima is also a must visit, but prepare to be moved.
For future trips the north for skiing is great.
