you play good, but like most people you do the rhythm wrong. when it changes from 9/8 to 2/4 (5th bar), you play the 16th notes as quadriplet 8s. there are quadriplets in the piece, like in the 9th bar. sometimes people think it's an error, but this is how villa-lobos wanted it, it's in the manuscript.
the same about the groups of 3 who are actually groups of 4. try to accent every first of 4 i
Yes, it does sound like triplets. and most of the time there is a nano second between each group of 3, which makes it sound like triplets.
And you are correct, it's written in groups of 4, but because of the closed, closed, open sections (the line on each string), it just naturally is going to sound like triplets.
Daukun (sp) Jang has the best version I believe, but really that part is going to sound like triplets.
I swear Im the only one who has watched this video. It is a really good interpretation, my only question is why does everybody play the part at 00:26 as tripletes (sp?) arent they accented as a groups of 4 16ths?? Im working on this piece but nobody I have heard has played that part as it is notated?? is it just me, it sounds wrong, otherwise, awesome version!!!
This is my favourite etude, and this is my favourite interpretation on youtube.
