  • I use Wine and its been doing great so far. Yeah there is a few issues and some stuff did not run in previous releases and then it works on the next release which is really good.

  • i think the whole wine code could be rewriten in c++0x and probably do some rewrites of some libraries

  • It's surprising how many applications are 'garbage', when we have extremely complex programs running in several categories of application (Photoshop, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, many Tier 1 games, utilities, etc.).

    That said, there are so few garbage applications, it feels almost like it might evaporate over the next few years (after which Windows 7 and lower applications may be largely irrelevant).

    WINE has come so far, and there's so far left to go. I wonder if it will ever end?
