Data loggers at St. Ignatius College B.S.S. Tal-Handaq.
The Physics department at school is currently using data logging technology to perform a number of investigations and experiments. Data loggers and sensors make it easier for the students to acquire and analyse data from an experiment. One has to say that modern scientists rarely do any of their work without data loggers and computers being involved.
The following investigation shows how data loggers and temperature sensors are used to compare the conducting properties of 3 materials. The data logger is set to take readings every minute for 30 minutes and as data gets collected, students immediately can compare the different insulators. The data acquired is eventually downloaded on a computer and the results are printed. These results are eventually used by the students for their SEC Physics practical.
