  • We have no problems at all getting tires and even have our choice of whitewall or black. VeloCruz sells these tires, as well as several other sellers. Solex tires have a straight tread. If you contact me directly, through my Velosolex4600 website, or through the IceniCAM group, I can send you links and photos. I am listed as the Velosolex Adviser on the IceniCAM group. A link for my Velosolex4600 website is in the description of this video. And I am BrianSoleX on the IceniCAM group forum.

  • wow so your in the same boat as me! where do you get tires? i found a website that sells 19x2.00 tires and i was told they would fit, because my mobys rims are exactly 19"

lol and no im not rebel, but i know him, hes a really great guy, hes the one who told me everything i know about my moby, if it wernt for him i would have sold it!!

  • Oh, are you RebelMoby on the IceniCAM group? You know, these Solexes use 23 x 2 tires (1 3/4 x 19).

  • oh ok, i have a 1976 mobylette cady, its 49cc and does about 30kph, so around 20mph, thats a decent speed, mine gets about 150mpg, but the tires are so friggen hard to find! why did the french have to use 23" tires and not 24"!!

  • Thanks! These bikes were not designed for power or speed. They were designed to be simple, reliable and economical, and they are. Top speed is about 20 mph, but they get 200 mpg. The engine is very reliable and simple. There is no float bowl or needle in the carburetor. Many of these 35 year-old bikes are used as daily transportation here in NYC, year-round.

  • wow i must say, thats the nicest looking thing ive seen in a long time! its just so slow though, what does it do? 20kph?

is it any good for hills,
