If we refuse to allow Construction companies and wealthy Corporate companies to build wasteful buildings in our cities, what will they do? Build homes for the people to make money. Who the heck needs an American Express building or a Met Life Building that does absolutely nothing to better society but sit there vacant and empty. Those wasteful buildings take away resources in the Billions!!!!
And further more, Peruggia should not have been demoted. The Mayor should have demoted himself! Why weren't the heads of sanitation fired? EMS can't do their job unless Sanitation does theirs. The last I checked snow removal is their responsibility. Maybe I missed that training drill? This is a slap in the face! It isn't enough that the public blames us for their errors day in and day out? We are going to be subjected to other City officials' blunders, as well? Some of my friends were penalizes
Notice how he put down the speech he wrote on paper and spoke off the top of his head? He said what NEEDED to be said, the hell with political correctness or etiquette!!!!!!!!
OUTSTANDING PAT, & the first thing the NY1 anchor said your panel's testimony is that 'the union chiefs came loaded for bear" !! I'm glad I left the DVR on, because the DC 37 guy Ron Arnero also testified with the 9-1-1 personnel, and he was one of my first long time partners there. Someone should tinally admit that what they consider a backlog and what EMS considers a "backlog" are completely different and each one doesn't not understand the other.
The Mayor should set some standards on what constitutes an Emergency,he regulates everything else(cigarettes, junk food for example).People in NYC call EMS for headaches, paper cuts, diaper rashes and other mundane NON life threatening illnesses or injuries.Mr:Bahnken is well informed, well aware of what goes on in "THE REAL WORLD" unlike most of these pencil pushing politicians who have never spent a day in the streets of NYC and know nothing about what EMS does and the Dangers we face daily!.
Tremendous!,Very well spoken Pat!,Great Job,you spoke the TRUTH and the truth hurts those who hide behind lies and rhetoric..You stood your ground, you held your head up high, you held our heads up high too!,you motivated me with your thoughtful, insightful, informative speech. To have you as my union representative is an HONOR!,FDNY/EMS fully supports you for standing up for us!, Thank You so much.....................................EMT:Rosado.
