  • @soxpacker Old Style beer sign also....

  • Such an amazing show. I appreciate the lengths they went through to mask the locale, but it's obviously Chicago. I was born and raised here, went to college in the city and saw the 7th District station (now UIC Police HQ, which was the exterior shot of Hill Street), but they used shots from cities all over the U.S.

  • @soxpacker also, at :29 (im a train fan, so bear with me :D ) also in Chicago, there's a unique tunnel where cars go under some railroad tracks. that and Burlington Northern didn't go east of Chicago or south of St. Louis :)

  • Men i have in that year 13 years old and i was FALL IN LOVE of veronica hamel...What a girl

  • @MsPerogi The beginning is definitely Chicago. You can see the Kennedy Expressway around the :10 second mark.

  • I want to piss in Betty Thomas' face. That is all.

  • @MsPerogi - It was to represent just a typical urban "nightmare of a precinct". Many of the establishing shots are from Chicago (clearly), but the street names and the neighborhoods are from different locations. This is because David Milch, Anthony Yerkovich, and others were from places like Buffalo, NY, St. Louis, MO, and others. Also, some scene shots were done in LA...specifically whenever it was summer (see Season 1).

  • @MsPerogi It kind of reminds me of good ol' gritty South Minneapolis, before the yuppie-do-gooder-cleanup.

  • @Terry1969ism I know just what you mean. I mean, my Dad's still with us, but this was a favourite of his and reminds me of growing up in the 80s. It was a Dad show :)
