My Gt Gt Grandmother, Catherine Nicholson 1826 from Kilmuir, Skye, Scotland.
She wrote the An Eriskay Love Lilt!
Unfortunately for Catherine, a Mrs Kennedy Fraser was touring Scotland gathering up songs, laments, lilts and ballads from the locals. Mrs Kennedy Fraser persuaded Catherine to signing up the rights with the promise of some later financial reward. The rewards never came and the lilt is now attributed to Kenedy Fraser.
