A Faculty Learning Community (FLC) is a professional learning community consisting of approximately 5-7 faculty who come together on a voluntarily basis over a specified period of time to explore the teaching and learning process. Group members are committed to improving their professional practice through collaborative dialogue and discussion focused on supporting student achievement.
If you are a facilitator implementing a FLC process on your campus, this resource will outline the basic steps of the FLC process, provide you with examples of FLC meetings, and offer related materials to ensure successful implementation. If you are a faculty member who is considering joining a FLC, we offer you a faculty perspective on the benefits of preparing and participating in a FLC group. Everyone is invited to examine these FLC Resources and encouraged to Visit a FLC Meeting and witness firsthand the transformative power of this faculty development activity.
